Martin Swims, Inc. is a nonprofit organization dedicated to restoring and managing the operations of Martin County’s only Community Pool—now known as the Coach Dick Wells Training Center Pool. Built by the community in 1975, this facility once served as a vibrant hub for health, safety, and recreation. Our mission is to bring back the programs that made the pool special and to expand access to swimming across Martin County.
Our long-term vision includes developing new community pools throughout the county—ensuring everyone has the opportunity to learn, swim, and thrive.
Our Services
Martin Swims, Inc. is re-establishing beloved community programs that promote water safety, fitness, and fun for all ages.
Programs & Services:
Teach Third Graders to Swim – Reviving a beloved local tradition (1976–2007) that helped generations learn lifesaving swim skills.
Lifeguard & Water Safety Certification – Comprehensive training and certification for future lifesavers.
Open Swims – Community swim hours on weekends, evenings, and summer days for families and individuals.
Age Group & Masters Teams – Competitive swim and dive programs for youth and adults.
Adult Learn-to-Swim Classes – Helping adults gain confidence and safety in the water.
SCUBA, Water Polo & Synchronized Swimming – Expanding aquatic programs for recreation and sport.
Recertifications for Fire & Police Personnel – Supporting local heroes with essential water safety training.
